“An error occured while processing this request”, “Failed to submit operation request” and “Failed to create virtual machine” error messages can occur when you try to create a new virtual machine in Windows Azure Pack with Rollup Update 11

Problem Description

When you try to create a new Virtual Machine in Windows Azure Pack with Rollup Update 11 installed, you can receive the following error messages.

"An error occured while processing this request", "Failed to submit operation request" and "Failed to create virtual machine".

Event Log

Error 11/18/2016 2:07:30 PM Microsoft-WindowsAzurePack-MgmtSvc-TenantSite 232 (59) "Potential version mismatch between WAP and SPF, please verify both component's versions and if they're compatible, Exception: 'System.Data.Services.Client.DataServiceRequestException: An error occurred while processing this request.

Error Message

"An error occured while processing this request" "Failed to submit operation request" "Failed to create virtual machine"

Solution

This issue may occur if the following conditions are true :

The Tenant event log on the Tenant Site Server should be analyzed and can have information pointing to the root cause of this (problem) error message.

This problem generally occurs because of the version mismatch between WAP and SPF or WAP and VMM Server. All components needs to be updated to the same Update Rollup level.
